Feed the Demon.

Blood, sweat and tears –
Anything it asks for,
Just making sure you and yours can pay the bills,
Keep the house, fill your bellies,
And maybe even go on holiday this year.

Keep on feeding it,
Even though the Demon doesn’t exist.

The only ones who can see it
Are those who can’t or won’t keep it satisfied.

Pity them,
But keep on feeding the Demon.

That way you might be safe.
